my injury for the day

Posted by redjokerx - November 1st, 2009

so i slid across the edge of a piece of wood and i now have a big cut across my leg. bruised and crap. but if i tell my mom about it, she'll call me stupid so im just gonna clean it with the alcohal (SPELLING) pads in my room. it burns!!

Comments

use Hydrogen Peroxide, i doesn't burn and it cleans the wound better.

it's spelled "Alcohol" by the way.

thanks! i relly need to learn to spell...
i would have, but i was bleeding and the peroxide is upstairs. *sad*

oh, fail, try getting injured upstairs next time.

tomorrow is another day!

Sometimes parents scold and shame children 'not' to make them feel bad. But rather to reinforce a sense of 'shame' so you strive to 'not' feel shame. It's kinda an insensitive way of parenting, but insensitive doesn't always mean cruel or detrimental.

Sometimes...it's what is called 'tough-love'. And sometimes it's hard to be 'open' with your parents. But listen, and learn, they are your only parents.

Even bad parenting could harbor a smart and good hearted child. Because the child (if he/she looks past the poor parenting) learns from her parents in more than one way. They learn how 'not' to be bad parents.

And vice versa. Even the happiest, most supportive parents could harbor a soiled brat. it all depends on you. You may still be young, but you are still responsible of yourself.

People will scorn you all the time. But it all boils down to how you approach the situation.

For example...

Also, my uncle is a doctor, and your approach is completely wrong.

Alcohol does kill bacteria, but it doesn't heal wounds.

You should show it to your parents as they have a responsibility to your health.
If you hide it and it gets worse, you'll just receive more scoldings.
It's kinda like those teenage dramas where the kid hides a problem that just gets worse and worse.

Even if your parents don't help you, at least your not being a total self-made outcast in the flock.

Here's how you clean a wound PROPERLY.

You must make sure you apply some sort of antibiotic ointment.
When you get a cut, it's like an injection of foreign parasites/bacteria/virus.
Wood carries hundreds of microbes that are potentially harmful.
And if you don't treat it properly, your immune system will have a harder time dealing with it.
Apply gauze to absorb excess blood. And use medical tape to keep gauze in place.
You can keep the area discrete under baggy pants or jeans.
But if it is tight clothing, you risk re-opening the wound.
When bathing, use a sterile sponge when cleaning the wounded area.
Even a scrubbing towel could shift the skin and re-open the wound.
Be gentle.

the BEST and possibly the most EXPENSIVE antibiotic ointment that works on a microbial level is "Silvasorb Gel" - it actually has traces of silver.

Silver has been show to have anti-bacterial properties when applied to skin.

Even British military has special nano silver technology in which nano threads of silver are laced in undies for bacterial control.

wow ur smart... yeah, i kinda don't have baggy pants, so idk what im gonna do since i have to go to school in like 20 minutes. (yes i have time to be on here) thanks for the tips!

so was i right about the Peroxcide?

yea...
i looks sooo weird when it goes all foamy!

Just, be more careful next time...try not to get hurt too much...

ill do my best ^_^

lulz i almost crapped myself when i first used it.

cause cuts should NOT go all foamy :p mlech!
